However, researchers from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have come up with a solution to target the affected cells or tissues. The solution is the combination of one of the oldest techniques with one of the latest technology. The team has collaborated brightfield’s microscopy with Artificial Intelligence.
Why the Union of Technology was Essential?
Brightfields Microscope can effectively demonstrate the cell structure of the human body using a simple lens and light source The denser part of the tissue absorbs the light and appear dark, whereas lighter parts reflect the light and show distinguish color. However, the results were not consistent as there were several constraints that affected them. For Instance, the density of the lens, light source, illumination in the room where microscopy, all of these factors actively influence the results.
To get a consistent result, researchers added artificial intelligence to the microscopy. The algorithms can now predict the precise behavior of the cell. During the experiment, the model delivered 35 accurate predictions out of 36 tests. With this union of technologies, scientists can now effectively study cell behavior. As a result, drug discovery can also shred the huge burden of complexities from its shoulders.
It is noticeable that Brightfield’s microscopy is 400 years old technology where is AI is the hot cake today. The union of these old and new technology can help doctors and healthcare institutes to save millions of lives in the future.
